BloomJarCo exists to make houseplant propagation genuinely approachable — the practical kind you can do on a windowsill with things you already own, explained clearly and honestly. What sets it apart is who stands behind it: the guides are shaped by decades of hands-on botany, not guesswork.
The scientist behind the site
BloomJarCo is led by Dr. Zamin Shaheed Siddiqui, a plant scientist who has been involved in teaching and research since 1997 at the Department of Botany, University of Karachi, where he now serves as Professor and Chairman of the department.
He earned his PhD through a split-program scholarship sponsored by Pakistan's Higher Education Commission (HEC). In 2012–2013 he worked at the National Center for GM Crops, Rural Development Administration (RDA), South Korea, through the Korean Fellowship Program. In 2014 he established the Stress Physiology and Phenomic Center at the Department of Botany. He has recently been appointed an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Plant Science (impact factor 6.63).

How the guides are written
Every guide is written to answer the questions beginners actually have — where to cut, how long it takes, why a cutting rotted, and whether that expensive gadget is really worth buying (usually, it isn't). The advice favours the boring truths of propagation: that patience matters more than products, that plain tap water is usually fine, and that some plants are simply slow no matter what you do. If something doesn't work well, we say so. The illustrative images on the site are AI-generated to clearly show techniques and setups; the methods and science we describe come from real botanical expertise.
